Swearing-In of the 5th Swieqi Local Council
|
 The Councillors elected for the 5th Local Council were sworn in on Thursday 15th March 2007 in a ceremony presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister Dr.Tonio Borg.
Mrs. Carmen Said was elected as Swieqis new Mayor with 377 votes, while Mr. Gregory Brincat will now be serving as the new Deputy Mayor with 329 votes.
Mr.Alfred Curmi will be serving as Councillor, together with Mr. Mario Fava both reconfirmed as members of the Local Council. Mr. Paul Fenech, Mr. Rene Rossignaud and Mr. Gordon Shephard will also be serving as Councillors.
The new Local Council will come into effect on the 1st April.

The elected Councillors for the 5th Swieqi Local Council are:
Carmen Said (PN)
Gregory Brincat (PN)
Alfred Curmi (PN)
Mario Fava (MLP)
Rene Rossignaud (AD)
Gordon Shephard (PN)
Paul Fenech (PN)
Mrs. Carmen Said was elected as the new Mayor Swieqi, while Mr. Gregory Brincat will be serving as Swieqis new Deputy Mayor. Mr. Alfred Curmi will now be serving as Councillor same as Mr. Mario Fava who was reconfirmed. Mr. Rene Rossignaud and Mr. Gordon Shephard are the new elected Councillors. Mr. Paul Fenech returns back to the Local Council after as absence of 6 years. |

MANWEL DIMECH BRDIGE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
|
The Malta Transport Authority notifies that due to road construction works, Manwel Dimech Bridge will be temporarily closed to two-way vehicular traffic as follows:
Sunday 25th February 06.00hrs till Monday 26th February 06.00hrs
Monday 26th February 20.00 hrs till Tuesday 27th February 06.00 hrs
Tuesday 27th February 20.00 hrs till Wednesday 28th February 06.00 hrs
To this end, vehicular traffic in the direction towards St Andrews will, upon exiting the Regional Road Tunnels, be diverted to Triq Mikiel Ang. Borg and onto Spinola (Triq il-Baltiku will be open to traffic).
Vehicular traffic in the direction towards Valletta will be diverted to Triq Sant' Andrija, Triq San Gorg and onto Spinola.
Any inconvenience is regretted. |
